AFCOOP 40th Anniversary Shorts | 90s-00s

Charting the changes in film technology, storytelling styles, and politics from the 1990s to today would require a large harddrive or a mountain full of film stock. But much is uncovered in this showcase of notable works from the last twenty years of short filmmaking at the Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative. Experimental, animation, documentary, and drama are all on display in a program that kicks off with the late Helen Hill’s colourful animated ode to Halifax, Bohemian Town. Also, included are early works by two of our region’s most established and accomplished feature filmmakers Thom Fitzgerald and Andrea Dorfman.
